BoardAlert respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects the same from its visitors. We write our posts in our own words and link to official sources. Still, if you believe that content on this website copies your work without permission, this page explains how to tell us.
How to send a copyright notice
Please send a notice through the contact page and write “DMCA” in the subject or at the start of your message. Your notice should include the following:
- a description of the copyrighted work you say has been copied;
- the exact web address (URL) of the page on BoardAlert where the content appears;
- your name, email address and postal address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner of the right or are authorised to act for the owner;
- your signature (typing your full name is enough).
What we do when we receive a notice
When we receive a complete notice we will review it and, if it is valid, remove or disable access to the content promptly. We usually respond within a few working days. We may share the notice, or the details in it, with the person who published the content. An incomplete notice may delay our response, so please include every item listed above.
Counter notice
If content was removed and you believe that this was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you may send us a counter notice through the contact page. It should identify the content that was removed and where it appeared, explain why you believe the removal was a mistake, and include your name, email address and signature. We may restore the content if the original complainant does not take further action within a reasonable time.
Repeat infringers
We may end access to the website for people who repeatedly infringe copyright.
Government notifications and public notices
Government notifications and public notices are issued for public information. We summarise them in our own words and link to the official source wherever one is available. Logos, names and official documents of government bodies remain the property of their owners and appear here for information only.
Please send accurate notices
Sending a false copyright notice can have legal consequences. Please make sure that you own the work or are authorised to act for the owner before you send a notice.
